Description: Few realize the the post-trib doctrine has been held by the largest cults including Mormonism. It is not a teaching of Scripture, but an error of cults and false religions who confuse the rapture and the Second Coming together.
Brother Hicks Speaking: Hello brothers and sisters. Today I want to talk to you about, what do the Mormon Church and Joseph Smith, the founder of the Mormon Church, and post tribulation believers have in common? You’re going to be amazed at this. The post tribulation view, that men are going to go through the tribulation period, the believers are going to go through the tribulation period, is a Mormon doctrine. It’s not a biblical doctrine, it’s not held by the Bible, it’s not taught in the Bible once. It’s a Mormon doctrine. Let’s look into this; here are some quotes from the Mormon church’s “Doctrines and Covenants” book. I want you to listen to these quotes, notice that they are the same as the post trib people, exactly the same.
Doctrines and Covenants 63:34, 50 through 51; “…The Saints also shall hardly escape; nevertheless, I the Lord, am with them, and will come down in heaven from the presence of the Father and consume the wicked with the unquenchable fire…He that liveth when the Lord shall come, and hath kept the faith, blessed is he; nevertheless, it is appointed to him to die at the age of a man. Wherefore, children shall grow up until they become old; old men shall die; but they shall not sleep in the dust, but they shall be changed in the twinkling of an eye.”
They [the Mormons] believe a post trib rapture. It’s plainly there, “when the Lord returns then they’re changed.”
Doctrines and Covenants 63:53-54; “In the day of the coming of the Son of Man… cometh an entire separation of the righteous and the wicked.”
Once again, they believe that the Saints will continue on in the tribulation period.
Doctrines and Covenants 88:96 through 98; “And the Saints that are upon the earth, who are alive, shall be quickened and be caught up to meet Him. And they who have slept in their graves shall come forth for their graves shall be opened; and they also shall be caught up to meet Him in the midst of the pillar of heaven, they are Christ’s the first fruits [of the resurrection], and they who shall descend with Him first, and they who are on the earth and in their graves who are first caught up to meet Him…”
They have a post tribulation rapture. [The] post tribulation rapture, that’s the Mormon belief. One thing that is interesting to me, is the reason I started studying this out was because I had a number of post trib people that had a lot of Mormon doctrines. They said they weren’t Mormon but they had a lot of Mormon doctrines. One of the [doctrines] around many post trib people today is this belief that Jesus wasn’t always God. [They believe] He became a god, He is a deified god, and that they themselves will become gods. They will become god just as much as Jesus is god, just as much as the Father is God, they will become gods. That is Mormon theology, and this is people who are professing Christians, many of them are preachers and they are teaching Mormon theology. So it is no surprise that they also hold to the Mormon theology doctrine of the post tribulation rapture. I never even would have thought about this, until I kept getting all these people telling me Mormon theology and their post trib view, and it kind of went together and I said “Why are they always saying the same things [as the Mormons]?” And then [with] a little bit of research I found out that the Mormons believe the exact same thing these people do.
This is not Christian doctrine, the post tribulation view is not a Christian doctrine, it’s a Mormon doctrine that people today like to promote. This is a new Mormon doctrine that is being taught. There are some people that held to; they just didn’t know when Jesus was going to return and they were going to wait until the end. Some people didn’t hold to the rapture, any rapture at all, some people held to amillennialism, there’ve been all kinds of views throughout history but this is specifically a Mormon view that these people are holding to, word for word, a Mormon view.
And so I ask you, if you are a post tribulation [rapture] follower, why not give up your Mormon theology, give up your Mormon doctrines, and start believing the Bible? Don’t just keep following Joseph Smith claiming you’re a Christian when you are really following Mormonism. Follow the Scripture, follow Jesus Christ. Why not start believing what the Bible actually teaches about the rapture; that we will be caught up before the tribulation period, not the Mormon theology of waiting until the end and then Jesus returns and then you are caught up? Prior to the tribulation period, the Saints of God will be caught up to be with Him.
1 Thessalonians chapter 5 verse 9; “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,” we’re not appointed to any wrath, whether it be the tribulation wrath or the wrath of God in Hell. We are not appointed to wrath. If you are a believer you are not going through the tribulation, which is a period of God’s wrath. Many people don’t even understand what the tribulation is, it is not a period of just Satan’s wrath, it’s not a period of just man’s wrath, it is God’s wrath, the wrath of the Lamb as it says in Revelation chapter 6, [verse 16]. It’s God’s wrath and we’re not appointed to God’s wrath.
Luke 21, verse 36, is Jesus speaking, He’s speaking of all the end time events, the tribulation period and all these end-time events and He says this; “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” Are you going to be one of those that is accounted worthy, that you watch and pray always, and you are accounted worthy and you escape this end time tribulation period and you’re with Him, and you return with Him as the book of Jude says [Jude 14], you’re with Him when He returns at the Second Coming. Or are you going to be of those waiting around following Mormon doctrines; you didn’t watch, you didn’t pray always, and so you weren’t accounted worthy? You were left behind and you waited until the end, following your Mormon post trib view, and you weren’t ready for Him because you weren’t living right, you were following false traditions of men and you wind up being destroyed with those that don’t believe in the end. Or you end up taking the mark of the beast, it could be anything. The believer is not appointed to wrath. My friends, if you think you are appointed to wrath it’s only because you are not a believer, and you just need to repent and believe the gospel. Be set free from this false teaching, this Mormon theology you are following, and be made alive unto God. May the Lord Jesus bless you.

Everything in Mormon theology that sounds "Christian" is erroneous. From their false Jesus, to their false Satan, to their false salvation, to their false God the Father, to their false end times belief of the Post-trib rapture, etc. The Mormons did not come up with the post-trib error, but it is one of a long line of errors propagated by this false religion and no Christian should have anything to do with their errors. REPENT!
