Description: Yes or No = Is It A Sin For A Woman To Have Short Hair?

A number of people want just a quick answer to their question about the Scripture, the things of God, or this life. Please ask me any question you may have that can be answered with a simple "Yes" or "No" and I will answer it for you and provide Scripture that confirms my answer. I pray that this is a blessing for you.

TRANSCRIPT OF THE VIDEO:

Brother Hicks Speaking: Here is a question from Angelica Luz, I might be mispronouncing the last name, I apologize if I am, “Brother Hicks, is it a sin for a woman to use short hair?”

Yes.

For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. – 1 Corinthians 11:6

But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering. – 1 Corinthians 11:15

Short hair on a woman is a shame, and no Christian woman would want to partake of something that brings shame upon herself and her Lord. In every culture and nation, except for the most perverted and warped, the common order is that women have long hair and men short hair. In describing the locusts that come up out of the bottomless pit, the book of Revelation says, “They had hair as the hair of women” (Revelation 9:8). It is commonly understood that the hair of men and the hair of women are never to be the same. A man with long hair is shameful as is a woman with short hair (1 Corinthians 11:14-15).
